Abstract: Symbolism,based on the irrationalism,tries to achieve harmony of the materiality and human soul through coherence of the visible material world.Symbolists made efforts to pursue a beautiful and harmonious world as home of human soul by using symbol,hint,association,or by describing the nature of matter,or by isostructuring myth,nature and human society and spirit.However,symbolists failed eventually to achieve the identity between the spiritual world and the material world.
