Abstract: The ritual of playing with the yak among Yangpo people in Xi’na region  was drawn on the conventional belief in gods of mountains and so on that gradually formulated unique cultural phenomenon and was carefully maintained as a result of being viewed as its own cultural tradition.It reveals that some “authentic” or traditional culture is barely the tool that has been made in certain circumstances to claim social status and impact of certain groups,which is embedded in contestation or collaboration between peoples.
