Abstract: the power of interrogation for police in England originated from the tradition of common law.In recent years, because of the increasing frequency of terrorist attacks and violent crimes like kidnapping, the public in England share a common wish that the police would crack down upon crimes more effectively and bring order back to the society so as to improve people’s sense of security.Against such a backdrop,England resorted to harsher criminal judicial policies to strengthen their control over crimes, which was mainly showed in their interrogating system. The right to stop and frisk of the police in England has undergone a series of modification and expansion.Meanwhile, the act of interrogation has been included in the norms of Criminal Law in order to prevent the police conducting arbitrary interrogation.
