Abstract: Field investigation is the root of ethnology.The field investigation on the artificial forestry in Qingshui River basin proves that the "vision inside the cultural holder",based on the "village log and scholar tracking", and the "interactive laboratory",established between the investigator and the interviewee,is an effective way to track the special and complicated research environment and research object.It is in the field,which is the "interactive laboratory",that we are to understand the research object and the relevant cultural facts.
