Media Use,Political Trust and Perception of Corruption:An Empirical Study of Chinese Netizens

Abstract: In the context of political information dissemination in Chinese media,the use of media is significantly related to the perception of corruption.The use of official media weakens the perception of corruption of netizens,while the use of non-official media strengthens the perception of corruption of Internet users.The influence of different types of media use on political trust is significant.The use of official media has a significant positive effect on the political trust of netizens,while the use of non-official media has a significantly negative effect.Political trust negatively affects netizens' perception of corruption.The mediating role of political trust between media use and corruption perception amplifies the negative impact of official media use on netizens' corruption perception,and also weakens the positive impact of non-official media use on netizens' corruption perception.
