Abstract: In contemporary Chinese society,selective benevolence is questioned and repelled due to the influence oftraditional moral concept and moral psychology.As an inevitable product of modern social development,selective benevolence is the requirement of fundamental philosophy of contemporary society and the liberal idea of socialist core value.To accept and support selective benevolence is to respect moral liberty of every individual,which is beneficial to the play and development of individual morality,and to the diversity and comprehensiveness of the whole social morality.
